Christmas Amaryllis

An impromptu shopping stop one day over Thanksgiving weekend with my mom led to a purchase of an amaryllis bulb. After planting the bulb and a few days of waiting, the stalk emerged, and then quickly thereafter, the bloom. I just love, LOVE fresh flowers!

On another note, boyfriend made the comment that my writing style is, well, interesting. He said I state the situation, the facts, and that's about it. And I totally agree! I'm a scientist, that's just the way things are. So sorry for the terrible writing :).

Chicago Sept 2012

So this post is super late, but better late than never, right? Here are some pics from when we met my MIL, BIL, and friends for a weekend getaway to Chicago back in September.
