Pretty Things

Yes, I do like some pretty things and I have decided to post a few that I am appreciative of. First up, the beautiful flowers my husband bought me. They remind me of spring and the wonderful weather that we are having. If I could afford fresh flowers on the table every week, I'd just love it!

The picture below is kind of odd, but I call this "my pretty cupboard.". Nate and I decided we wanted some cool and unique ice cream/dessert dishes instead of ordinary ones that match our place settings. Well, one day we were in Anthropologie and noted these (top shelf). We just love them! Below that, are the very elegant wine glasses that Jeremy and Kathleen got us as a wedding gift. They are engraved with "Bowers". Next up, our never ending stash of homemade vanilla that we made as wedding favors. I love having fresh vanilla to use and the cute little bottles and purple twine. And then of course we have my recipe box and my sugar bowl and creamer. Love love love.

Boyfriend and I did a lot of random errands today in Grand Island. We went to the brand new Panera Bread for breakfast and studying, then Younkers, Dillards, the library, shopping for scrubs, car wash, Walmart, hair cut for Nathaniel, Hobby Lobby and last but not least, the Dollar Tree. At Hobby Lobby, I picked up this St. Patty's day decoration. At first, I was thinking Easter decorations, but I can't skip St. Patty's day! After all, I do have some Irish in me ;).

Happy weekend everyone!! I am so grateful for a 3-day weekend! Thank you gov't.

Hangin with the Bear

I haven't posted in a long time, but I thought this was the perfect time to post as we were able to take the Bear for a few hours on Saturday. We started our day around 10:30 am when G and G Faeh dropped him off at our place. We roamed the house looking for Cheddar as Noah seems to remember that we have a cat. Once she was found under the bed and wasn't coming out, we decided to head out. When I heard that the boys were going to be in the area, I thought it'd be nice to take Noah and do something fun. I googled for a children's museum, not expecting to find anything, but was surprised to see that Hastings has one. So off to Hastings we went.

This is how Noah says "cheeeeessse"

We found out that the "museum" is really a giant store front property that is filled with used toys. But Noah had fun. They for sure have more toys than what Nate and I have.

Noah liked this blow up snowman. He hugged it at first, but of course we missed that photo opportunity.

One section of the museum was this grocery store with little carts and tons of different food. Noah was a very healthy shopper as he wanted every fruit and vegetable in the bin!

Don't worry, we told him not to put that in his mouth
At one point Nate pointed out the ice cream bars in the "freezer" section of the grocery store. Noah promptly picked it up and walked over to where I was sitting on a bench, sat down next to me, and said, "eat, eat". The poor kid thought it was real and I told Nate he was in big trouble. I had to explain to Noah that it was just pretend. Though for his credit, it was a real ice cream box.

Noah played with this toy ambulance for a long time!

This little girl hauled over a tree to put in the back.
Noah looked at her like she was crazy for putting that tree in the back.

Static hair all day long!

Noah LOVED his happy meal. You should have heard the squeal of delight!
I was very impressed with his skills with a juice box!

Playing with the happy meal toy.

A very tuckered little boy

After dropping Noah off at the Faehs', Nate and I headed home for a quick nap to gear up for a double date. That evening, Nate's parents drove out to Grand Island to have dinner with us and then we went to go see Guys and Dolls at the local theatre. I really enjoyed it and thought it was a great show with a great story!
