Big Move Ahead

It has been a long time since I've written on this so called blog of ours. My residency is complete at the end of June and I have been applying to jobs like crazy. Nate and I decided that we are okay moving outside of Nebraska (with some preferred places obviously) in order for me to get a job in ambulatory care. I interviewed at a few locations, and ended up accepting an offer as a clinical pharmacy specialist, telehealth in Marion, Indiana. I will be seeing patients mainly for anticoagulation, but also for management of cholesterol, high blood pressure, smoking cessation, diabetes, and all sorts of things. The veterans will be in a rural clinic and the appointment will take place over the computer through technology - think really sophisticated Skype. The great thing about being in the VA is that I will not have to become licensed in Indiana. The Marion, Indiana VA is very similar to the Grand Island VA and the people there seem just as friendly. Another positive about the location is that one of my co-residents also took a position there. So Nate and I will at least know two other people (the co-resident and her fiance) :).

Our goal is to rent a house in Noblesville, Indiana, which is a suburb of Indianapolis. Luckily, we were able to track down a Realtor to help us out a bit. There are lots of possibilities and I am anxious and excited to get some decisions made. And let me tell you, I am super excited to be in a big city again with all sorts of things to do!
